Dames and Daughters Series: Melanie, Macy and Hallie

"One of the greatest gifts I've ever gotten is my daughter." ~Ace Frehley

Welcome to the latest installment of our
Dames and Daughters series!

This week we are featuring Melanie and her daughters Macy (2) and Hallie Jean (8 months).  Melanie is a North Carolina transplant and is the wife of John.

As you can imagine, she is super busy with her sweet little girls, but she has also been gifted with awesome talent. She has a lovely, lovely voice (she actually sang at Jessica's wedding,) and plays piano and is part of the leadership team for worship at her church.  She has a Masters of Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina! (I told you she was talented!)

Jessica loved doing our shoot with Melanie and her chicklets (I sat in the car with sleeping Hudson!).  Melanie is wearing our Golden Glow Ruffle Top for the photos. Doesn't she look lovely?

We asked Melanie a few questions just so you could get to know her a little better.  Melanie asked Macy some questions for us at home and we just guessed at what Hallie's answers would be (you know, since she's only 8-months).

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Melanie: A singer.  - (Well, we think that worked out!)

What's your favorite thing to do with Daddy?

     Macy: Play outside.

Who is your favorite person?

     Hallie: Mommy

What was the worst advice you received on marriage before you were married?

Melanie: I am having trouble with this one—  (You must have gotten all good advice!  Lucky you!

What's your favorite food?

     Macy: Strawberries.

     Hallie: Mommy

What's your favorite toy?

Macy: Reading books in her play tent.

     Hallie: Mommy

What is the most surprising thing about being a mom?

Melanie: The hard but beautiful reality of being “mommy” 24/7.

Thanks so much, Melanie for spending part of an afternoon with us and sharing your girls!  We loved it!

~Dawne
